A hearing test can be daunting for many, so we begin by finding out about your hearing difficulties to gain an understanding of your desired outcome, so that we can provide you with the best solution.
An otoscope is used to examine the outer ear canal & eardrum before a hearing test is carried out, to find any visible issues, such as wax buildup, which determines if you need wax removal.
If a buildup of ear wax is discovered, you will receive ear wax removal using a procedure that is best suited to your needs.
This is a response test, where you’ll be given headphones to wear & will be exposed to a series of sounds at various frequencies. You’ll then be asked to press a button every time you hear a sound.
Speech perception test
A small probe is placed into the ear to measure the movement of your eardrum. This helps diagnose disorders that can lead to hearing loss.
The audiologist will discuss the results with you and talk you through your options.
